Wendy Braun
Born: Apr 5, 1970
Wendy Braun was born in Northbrook, Illinois, a suburb north of Chicago. Her mother, Beverly Marston-Braun, was known as Miss Beverly, the host of Romper Room and Friends, a popular children's TV show, and her father was a Navy pilot. Wendy began acting at age 12, as the Scarecrow in "The Wiz", and continued performing in musicals at Glenbrook South High School, as well as at Indiana University, where she graduated early to pursue acting. A trained professional dancer, Wendy spent a summer performing in Monte Carlo with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Barry White and Natalie Cole. There she won over one of her biggest fans, Prince Albert of Monaco, who later escorted her to her film premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. She trained with the legendary Uta Hagen, and upon moving to Los Angeles, she continued to study with Howard Fine and at The Groundlings. Wendy soon starred in several award-winning film festival hits. Ivan Reitman spotted her in two films at Sundance and cast her in DreamWorks' Evolution alongside David Duchovny and Julianne Moore. Her comedic timing and improvisation skills prompted ad executives to create a 26-spot Mervyn's campaign to highlight this. Her love of the stage recently brought her back to Chicago, to star in "The Vagina Monologues".
